Big News

OK so this may be the first many of you are hearing/reading this, but Mikey and I are expecting a little one. We are very excited about having a baby on the way, so let me catch everyone on up what has been going on. We kept it very quiet for many many weeks. We told my parents on Christmas day, which at that time I was about 6 weeks along. Mikey slipped and told a couple other people here and there, against my wishes, and then finally started telling people around 13 weeks. Today I had my 19 week appointment and an ultrasound.

So, I guess I will start from the beginning. I was nauseous before the pregnancy test even read positive. For almost 12 weeks I was nauseous 24 hours a day, but i am happy to say that has pretty much passed and now just have the occasional nauseous moment. No other real symptoms other then being really tired, so I can't complain. I have not missed a day of work and really hope I can work until I deliver.

I have been having monthly appointments since about week 8 and all has been going well. Well, that is until today, my 19 week appointment. I was so excited to go we were going to have an ultrasound and find out if we were having a boy or a girl. Started out normal; go back, get weighted, pee in a cup and take my blood pressure. Well today my BP was high, 142/92, to be exact. Not good when you are pregnant, well not good if you aren't either. So Dr. B gave me a prescription for some medicine, 3 times a day, I have a hard enough time remembering to take my prenatal vitamins once a day. He said check BP daily and see me in a week. I talked him into 2 weeks if I called him in a week with daily BP readings. Then see him again in 4 weeks for another ultrasound and check up. Not what I wanted to hear. So I then had to ask if I was still able to go on my vacation May 1, which he said earlier that there would be no problem, and he said he wasn't sure we will re-evaluate as it gets closer, again not what I wanted to hear. Finally he said we would keep a close eye and if continue to have problems then may have to stop working, that was really NOT what I wanted to hear. Then he says "Well the good news is that you get more ultrasounds when you have high BP." Yeah...NOT While ultrasounds are very exciting I could do without. Oh so probably what you are waiting for is a boy or a girl. Dr. B said most likely a GIRL, but will hopefully confirm in 4 weeks at next ultrasound.

So there you have it. I do have some pictures and he is suppose to be making me a DVD I think i am going to be getting that at my next appointment something about it has to be finalized I was kind of confused on that but was in no mood to ask more questions.
