Week 20

Half way there! I am so happy that I am half way. The first 20 weeks had its ups and downs, but the past couple weeks I have been feeling pretty good and hope it continues. The biggest thing affecting me lately is how tired I have been, so lets hope for some energy. Everyone keeps asking if I have started working on the nursery. Well... the answer is NO! I still need to empty that whole room out, which right now is my craft room so that is no small challenge. I will get there, I still have 20 weeks people. Haha.. I know it will fly by.

I have survived week one of taking my BP medication three times a day, and happy to say i have only missed one or two doses. Called the doctor today to report my week of BP's. He said that everything looked good, keep on the same medication, and see him in one week. So, I survived another week as far as the BP goes.

BP update

OK so I have been being a good patient and taking my medication, which by the way many have been asking it is called Methyldopa, 3 times a day. Know I am only on day 3 of this, but my BP have been in the low 130/low 70. I am very happy with those numbers and hopefully he will be too next Tuesday when I call him with the update.

I have really been noticing the baby kicking more and more and that is very exciting to me. So since Mikey and I haven't been able to agree on a girls name he has decided that I am suppose to name our child. That, in mind, is a cop out and really annoys me! So lets just say we are still working on the whole name thing.

I am still working on this blog thing so hopefully soon it will look a little better soon.

Big News

OK so this may be the first many of you are hearing/reading this, but Mikey and I are expecting a little one. We are very excited about having a baby on the way, so let me catch everyone on up what has been going on. We kept it very quiet for many many weeks. We told my parents on Christmas day, which at that time I was about 6 weeks along. Mikey slipped and told a couple other people here and there, against my wishes, and then finally started telling people around 13 weeks. Today I had my 19 week appointment and an ultrasound.

So, I guess I will start from the beginning. I was nauseous before the pregnancy test even read positive. For almost 12 weeks I was nauseous 24 hours a day, but i am happy to say that has pretty much passed and now just have the occasional nauseous moment. No other real symptoms other then being really tired, so I can't complain. I have not missed a day of work and really hope I can work until I deliver.

I have been having monthly appointments since about week 8 and all has been going well. Well, that is until today, my 19 week appointment. I was so excited to go we were going to have an ultrasound and find out if we were having a boy or a girl. Started out normal; go back, get weighted, pee in a cup and take my blood pressure. Well today my BP was high, 142/92, to be exact. Not good when you are pregnant, well not good if you aren't either. So Dr. B gave me a prescription for some medicine, 3 times a day, I have a hard enough time remembering to take my prenatal vitamins once a day. He said check BP daily and see me in a week. I talked him into 2 weeks if I called him in a week with daily BP readings. Then see him again in 4 weeks for another ultrasound and check up. Not what I wanted to hear. So I then had to ask if I was still able to go on my vacation May 1, which he said earlier that there would be no problem, and he said he wasn't sure we will re-evaluate as it gets closer, again not what I wanted to hear. Finally he said we would keep a close eye and if continue to have problems then may have to stop working, that was really NOT what I wanted to hear. Then he says "Well the good news is that you get more ultrasounds when you have high BP." Yeah...NOT While ultrasounds are very exciting I could do without. Oh so probably what you are waiting for is a boy or a girl. Dr. B said most likely a GIRL, but will hopefully confirm in 4 weeks at next ultrasound.

So there you have it. I do have some pictures and he is suppose to be making me a DVD I think i am going to be getting that at my next appointment something about it has to be finalized I was kind of confused on that but was in no mood to ask more questions.
